Mommy, Matt, Jennie, and me!

my pictureHi!  My name is Mairi Kate.  (It sounds like Mary.)  I'm seven years old.  I've been going to "steam" (antique equipment) shows since I was 2 months old.  I had my picture in Pennsylvania Magazine when I was 5 months old, riding on Mom's back while she ran my great-grandpap's home-built half-scale traction engine.  Anyway, I know LOTS about the stuff my dad sells.  Here is a list of MY favorite toys and books.

Toys

1. Putt-putt boats--Mom says I can't run these without supervision yet, but I love to watch!
2. All the tin toys!--I like to wind them up and get them all going!  Robots, trains, kangaroos . . .
3. Wooden Railroad--These trains fit on Brio and Thomas the Tank Engine track, but they're made in America; and they make American engines and boxcars like I see at railroad crossings.
4. Cast Iron Banks--I like to put a penny in and demonstrate them for people.
5. Slik Toys--These toy tractors and farm equipment aren't name brands like the expensive ones, but they're great for playing with.  My dad had them when he was a kid; and if he and Uncle Matt couldn't break them, I don't think you will.
6. Slinkys--I know you can buy Slinkys at the dollar store, but these are just like the originals from 50 years ago.  Dad says they're blued steel--but I say they're heavy.   They REALLY walk down the stairs!  I love going to the Slinky factory to buy them. $4.00
7. Wooden train whistles--When a customer is looking at our wooden train whistles, I get to demonstrate mine.  Toot-toot! $2.50
